Why do I ask? Because, unless things change dramatically very soon, that’s your future. Done deal. It needn’t necessarily be inevitable, but, unfortunately for us all, while Republicans, or, if you prefer, conservatives, talk a good game, when it comes time to actually do something, they usually reach for the TV remote instead.

As this is being written, James Comey is currently testifying before Congress, and I wonder if enough people recognize what is actually happening right before their eyes? What we are seeing, not just in this hearing, but in print and broadcast media every minute of every single day is nothing less than an ongoing non-violent, media complicit coup that is unprecedented in the history of the world! It is unprecedented for a number of reasons, not the least of which is that it draws its energy from the now regretfully obvious merger between the mainstream media and the Democrat Party. And the coup is only non-violent for now, because when it is successful, when totalitarianism finally arrives, then ugly, brutal, unspeakable violence will be its companion.

So let me make this very clear – the republic cannot possibly survive  such an evil alliance! It would be nice if we could count on the Republican controlled Congress to actually do its job, but we know we can’t. We know we can’t because they have proved that we can’t, and we have come to understand that, while Republicans in Congress are surely impotent, they are far more than just impotent. They are actually, actively and with malice aforethought, complicit in what is happening to this once great nation.

So maybe you don’t like Trump. Maybe you even hate him, but can you seriously deny that this mountain, this Everest of opposition from all sides of the establishment proves conclusively that Trump is their worst nightmare come unexpectedly into the Oval Office and that he is, therefore, exactly the person we need there? Sadly, there are actually conservatives who would willingly sacrifice the country in order to keep Trump from being a success, and, while I truly detest all Democrats, I detest those so-called conservatives even more.

I was never a Trump supporter before the general election, but I have come to believe that, while he is no principled conservative, his heart is in the right place, and he wants what is best for this country. That makes him anathema to the establishment, both Democrat and Republican, and a dire threat that needs to be immediately terminated with extreme prejudice, and it means, too, that he is more one of us than one of them – more by a large margin.

I know that this is a huge steaming heap of bad news. There is just no getting around it. As that famous anonymous philosopher so wisely observed, it is what it is. But there is good news, too. I mean every cloud has a faux-copper lining, right?

First, what we know – five undeniable truths …

We can now see clear and irrefutable proof of the merger of the mainstream media and the Democrat Party. Certainly, we could argue about which is running the show and directing the other, but we can’t argue that the merger isn’t fact, and, anyway, which signs the paychecks for all really doesn’t matter, does it?

We can clearly see, too, finally, the truth of the musty charade that we actually have two parties in this country. We don’t. We haven’t for many decades, and maybe never did. Professor Carroll Quigley, hardly a conservative, who was allowed to see and write about the inner workings of the CFR (Council on Foreign Relations), told us in a particularly candid and revealing moment that the two parties exist only so that the people “can throw the bastards out” every so often yet not significantly change the direction of the country. I imagine he was snickering as he wrote it. Anyone who doubts the truth of that statement after today, who still naively thinks that the national (not local) Republican Party wants something different than its Democrat buddies, is seriously beyond help. Can anyone say with a straight face that the march to socialism has not been just as sure, if a tad more frog-boiling leisurely, under national Republicans as under Democrats? Your brain is nagging at you and pointing you in the right direction, so maybe you should listen to it!

Since we now know, because we have brains and because of mounds of irrefutable evidence, that Republicans are working for the same goal as Democrats, those of us who don’t mind pushing their little gray cells a bit farther must begin to wonder just who IS directing all of this evil activity? There is an answer to that question, and it is pretty much obvious after you do a bit of research, but that is beyond the scope of this article. I’ll give you a hint, though. Think money. So there, now, off you go on your own investigation.

We can now see just how vile, nasty, ugly, mean, and bigoted most (all?) Democrats are and that it is entirely appropriate that Kathy Griffin has become the face of the Democrat Party.

We can finally understand, if we ever thought otherwise, that it absolutely can happen here! We can understand, too, how, as Hayek told us, the wicked tend to rise to the top under socialism and that we have plenty of applicants for all of those jobs in today’s America.

Now, the good news …

First, there are still enough good, decent, principled people in this country to be able to stop this travesty right in its nasty, slimy tracks if they would just stand up and be heard. That hasn’t happened yet, though. Either it takes a lot to awaken that sleeping giant, and we just haven’t quite made it there yet, or the giant has died in its sleep and will never again awaken. My hopes and prayers are that the former is the case and that the alarm will sound soon, maybe even today.

Second, all Christians know that God is in his Heaven and that the entire universe, even this little matter, is in his control. We know, too, however, that we shouldn’t be like the farmer who is leaning on his shovel while praying for a hole. If I were God, I wouldn’t look upon it favorably if you were to just dump this into my lap without first attempting – I mean seriously attempting – to fix it yourself. Shouldn’t we, instead, stand ready today to pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor to fight for what we believe, what we know, is right? That’s a good question, but an even better one is … will we?
